Cute couple Angie and Marcus Holiday take first prizes for Best Dressed Female and Best Dressed Male at the Emerald Gardens Fashion Dance held Tuesday. The new dance series features Contemporary on Tuesdays, Casual on Thursdays, and Formal on Saturdays, and is sponsored by owner Emerald Spice. "The mission of Emerald Gardens is to sell, show and promote good fashion in Sl," said Spice. Events are open to all residents, new and experienced, who want to see or make good fashion. "It's a great place to meet chicks too!" grinned Wesley Jessop, aeronautics mechanic, who attended the dance despite not considering himself a fashion aficionado. In addition to the impromptu dance events, designed to be relaxed and fun, formal shows and professional designer seminars are scheduled monthly. GARDENS FASHION OPENING WOWS APPRECIATIVE AUDIENCE

Residents enjoyed a new kind of fashion experience Saturday at the Emerald Gardens Grand Opening Spring Fashion Show. Sitting on comfy garden benches around a unique circular water fashion stage, an appreciative audience was presented with twelve matched ensembles of clothing, accessories, hair and shoes by Emerald Gardens Retailers and worn by models Sweethate Flasheart, Ashlee Martin, Angel Solzhenitsyn, Nudie Tonic and Emerald Spice. Chet Neurocam, sexy NorthStarr Radio DJ acted as MC for the event. The show featured designs from Dustin Lemay, Bewitched, Emerald Dreams, Izou's, Tazzie's, Goldie Locks, Duport Imports, Deelicious, Dark Dezires, Blaze and All That Glitters.

"This place is fantastic!" said Katee Sparkle, jeweler and owner of All That Glitters. Emerald Gardens features a gorgeously landscaped vista of one of a kind shops based on greenhouses, spahouses, trellises and gazebos. The build extends the full length of Poecila Sim and features a central falls/fashion stage/cafe events area and guest arrival point. To the north and south, giant greenhouses anchor the attractive winding paths and interspersed unique shops and flowers. Featured for sale in flower beds are unique arboreals and florals available nowhere else in SL.

Emerald Spice, owner, commissioned the work. "Emerald told me gardens was her theme and I took her at her word!" chuckled designer and builder Selena Gateaux, who opened her own sim earlier this year and was nominated for two Metaverse Awards (Notable Build and Notable Private Sim) for The Rainforest. "I love plants and gardens, so first I looked for garden structure ideas on the internet and picked the ones that looked interesting. Then I sketched ideas for implementing them in Second Life and started building!"

Spice is clothing designer, mall operator, model and sim owner all rolled into one. "I want Emerald Gardens to be a place of peace, beauty and prosperity", says Spice. "I was excited when I opened my first mall to allow residents in Sl to achieve their dreams. But my first love has always been gardens, so I decided to shut it down and rebuild from scratch." Her first project was Emerald Dreams Shops, launched last year with sl spouse Sanstrom Laxness, a pilot in real life. The couple are known for their generous spirit and support of all things fashionable and aeronautic. Sans held his own Grand Opening last weekend for the new Second Life Municipal Airport and a third Grand Opening is in the works for their gorgeous new home in Amella Sim. "The home takes a third of the region," said Laxness, "but nothing is too good for my Emerald!" The couple, married this year at St. Andrews, plan a series of gala events for friends and business associates.

Emerald's enthusiasm for her Gardens build is contagious. The shops were 90 percent full before opening, and first to reserve spaces were her former Dreams retail residents. "The service here is fantastic!", said Wiccan Sojourner of Bewitched. "Emerald listens to us and our ideas for helping retailers flourish." Several outfits were introduced specifically for the Gardens opening. These included "Men's Black Suede Fringed Jacket" by Tazzie Tuque of Tazzie's, southwestern influenced and constituting the first of her new Men's Wear line. Also introduced was "Lace Melon Gown", featuring melon satin and white lace, available on special now in her shop. Many know Taz as DJ Hottie Tazzie Tuque of NorthStarr Radio, favored for her superb dancable mixes of Rock Through The Ages and her distinctive look and voice.

Designer Blaze Columbia presented his new for the season "Spring Fling Dresses" series with custom matching "Spring Flowers" armlet, necklace and earring jewelry sets by Katee Sparkle of All That Glitters. Columbia is known not only for his superb designs but for his willingness to help other residents and for his tribute to experienced residents who've helped him. "We all have an impact on this place. My goal is to do my part in enhancing it, even if just a little." Also introduced was the "Seersucker Suit" series for Men featuring coloring and detailing to match the dresses. Spring Fling Dress, Spring Flowers Jewelry, and Seersucker Suit are available separately or in matched sets in vibrant blue, green, pink and teal.
