PHILANTHROPY IN VIRTUAL WORLDS TELEPORT SIGNS send attendees to Main Event Area on Philanthropy 1 to 4. As the crowd fills, additional attendees are sent to Overflow Areas 5 to 8. Scheduled are a pre-event mixer, short video, live voice on stream dialogue between Philip Linden and Jonathan Fanton, and a post-event reception and concert.

PHILANTHROPY IN VIRTUAL WORLDS RECEPTION COURTYARD holds the pre-event Live DJ mixer playing original Second Life music. Attendees pick up free event t-shirts, browse information displays on MacArthur Foundation projects such as Digital Media, Learning and Education, and make way to their seats.

ATTENDEES CROWD INTO PRESENTATION ARENA. A short video plays prior to the voice on stream program, explaining the new Philanthropy in Virtual Worlds Program of the MacArthur Foundation and the USC Center on Public Diplomacy. Over 270 visitors watch, listen  and ask questions from eight simulators on the Main and Teen Grid sims.

USC STUDENTS TUOANH ANNENBERG and Ryuki Hax prepared 30 avatars for MacArthur Foundation staff and provided video recording of the event from the Blog TV broadcast.
